Support Foster's workers struggle for a union agreement Community picket this Wednesday
All welcome
2-4pm, Wed Nov 14
Fosters Yatala brewery, Cuthbert Rd, Yatala, QLD (just off the Pacific Motorway)
For info or to organise a car pool, phone Scott Wilson (ETU) 0419 721 047 or Paul Benedek 0410 629 088
Fosters workers at Yatala need your support. While the majority of workers are union members wanting a union agreement, management is trying to freeze out the unions (LHMU, ETU & AMWU). While Fosters CEO received a 12.5% cash rise on top of his $3mill salary, and Fosters made $936mill in 2006/07, the workers at Yatala get up to 35% less than their counterparts around the country - all of whom have union agreements.
The workers have voted down 2 non-union agreements made by the company, and are regularly picketing - but the anti-union laws make it tough to have an impact. Workers who are finishing shifts half an hour early to join the picket line are being docked 4 hours pay.
The workers need your solidarity. Please try to get along this Wednesday. If you don't have transport, call Scott or Paul, or organise a car load. Community support would be a huge boost to the Fosters workers.
Picket line BBQ and drinks will be supplied!
Please pass this message on to all union and workers rights supporters, and contact Scott Wilson for any further information on 0419 721 047.
